Question: I was recently arrested for burglary. I used to work with foreclosed homes and had a female friend who said she wanted to look in side one of the homes. I knew i wasn't supposed to let her in but i felt if i gave her the address and the wrong code for the box to get in that it would be OK. to make a long story short she broke in into the house and stole $20,000 worth of furniture and clothes and i was charged with a burglary charge even though i gave her the wrong code. I am still awaiting a hearing. This is my first offence and i am a prior service soldier. What do you think the end result will be? I really need your help.

Answer: You and she will be charged with burglary, because you are parties to the same offense of burglary. You will go the cheap route, and allow the PD to represent you, because you really did not do anything, and you think the "wrong code" defense is believable. She will retain an attorney with the furniture she stole, who will arrange for her to testify against you. She will testify against you at trial, and you will be convicted. She will get probation and you will get a prison sentence. You will get down to the penitentiary, and cry about what a shitty country this is, and how you served in the military, never once thinking you should have retained an attorney. That is what I think.
