Criminal Defense Attorney 678-407-9300

Question: I was involved in what began as a civil matter in 2008. A police report was filed by the other party in 2009, I was processed for booking a few months later in June. I had entered into a pretrial diversion program, but was only able to pay back 1/2 before the market tanked. I then was arraigned for the same charge (1 count Theft by Taking) in April 2011 and plead Not Guilty. My attorney and I did not hear anything else about the case until today when he was sent a Criminal Trial Calendar to appear June 16th. My case is #18 on a docket of 34 cases for a 1 day calendar. All of this seems absurd and crazy. Is this normal?

Answer: All perfectly normal. You stole. You were unable to pay back. Now you will be prosecuted and face prison
